Close the Door on Room 401
The new show from MTV called "Room 401" aired last night and the show sucked. I can’t really say that it flat out sucked…but it was lacking something. Let me explain what the show is all about before I go further.
Here is a snippet from MTV’s page:
" Are you ready to be scared out of your mind?
Join us in a place where your senses may betray you; a place where reality is not exactly what it seems; a place where you’ll question everything you’ve ever known to be true. Welcome to Room 401.
What happens inside appears to be very real to the people it’s happening to, and the fear they feel is also very real. Now, the only question is: Are you ready to step into another dimension and face what’s inside Room 401?
From executive producer Ashton Kutcher, Room 401 is a mind-blowing journey through the weird and shocking world of illusion. Unsuspecting victims are swept into the middle of a real-life horror movie that’s playing out right in front of their eyes. From the dead rising from the grave to messy chainsaw mishaps to electrifying salon encounters, these onlookers won’t believe what they’re seeing. Or will they? "
{sidebar id=1} I think what made it suck the most is that the never show or tell the people that soiled their pants that it was all a joke. It just cuts off as they walk away. As an audience, is this supposed to scare us? Make us loose sleep? No, its gonna make us turn the channel to something less painful such as Miami Ink.
The plots and pranks are decent, but I just can’t put my finger on what is missing. If any of you have seen Ashton Kutcher’s show called "Punked"…you could probably relate to the feel or atmosphere of the show…just not as good.
There is also some guy called a host that pops in from time to time and delivers a catchy phrase at the end of every scare…this just adds more to crap.
Who knows? Maybe the show will get better. If you feel like checking it out and doing nothing better with your life, check out the episodes here: http://www.mtv.com/ontv/dyn/room_401/series.jhtml
