ImageWhat the hell? You mean it was coming towards us?!

" The U.S. Navy succeeded in its effort to shoot down an inoperable spy satellite before it could crash to Earth and potentially release a cloud of toxic gas, the Pentagon said. It was unknown whether the missile took out its precise target -- the satellite's full fuel tank. "

" The missile that struck the satellite was launched from the ballistic missile defense cruiser USS Lake Erie from the Pacific Ocean west of Hawaii at 10:26 p.m. ET Wednesday, the general said. It struck the satellite more than 130 miles above it 24 minutes later. "

" The attempt cost up to $60 million, according to estimates. "

$60 million dollars to shoot that sucker down...I wonder if it would have been cheaper to just let it hit earth?

60 million??? Jesus Christ, i'm really starting to think it would be cheaper to let it hit the Earth too maybe? This money could do for some other serious problems out there.
