Full Worm March Moon
What an amazing looking moon this morning! In my research, I discovered that I was gazing at the Full Worm March Moon or Worm Moon.
Here is a cool little tidbit:
“ As the temperature begins to warm and the ground begins to thaw, earthworm casts appear, heralding the return of the robins. The more northern tribes knew this Moon as the Full Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signaled the end of winter; or the Full Crust Moon, because the snow cover becomes crusted from thawing by day and freezing at night. The Full Sap Moon, marking the time of tapping maple trees, is another variation. To the settlers, it was also known as the Lenten Moon, and was considered to be the last full Moon of winter. “

Last full moon of winter?! I am all for that. I have also heard the crows and after last night’s big rain, I counted about 10 earthworms slithering around…almost hold true to the statement about the moon above.

A handy calendar but it looks like I am too late to buy a Moon Luck Spell: http://earthspells.com/full_moon_spell.html
Cool Brow. Did you take that shot? I know you have had pictures of the moon before and that is a good one!
