We got an early Christmas present from a buddy of mine over the past weekend and have been rocking out since then. The game is totally different from the norm and its replay value is pretty high.

The game comes with a mic, guitar and drum set so that more people can get involved and play together. I won’t go into a full review, but just point out some quick pros and cons that stood out to me.

Rock Band Pros
Fun and entertaining
Time killer
Different from the normal games
Playing the drums gets your heart rate up and is possibly burning calories (yeah, weird right?)
Tons of songs to play and more to download from Xbox live
Goal setter – something to work on and get better at
Good party or group game

Rock Band Cons
Damn wires…too many of them laying around
Requires hand and eye cordination…not for the lazy
Has a learning curve and easy is not easy
Hard to get online – I still haven’t figured it out
Needs some Hip Hop songs in the line up
Timing seems off and gets frustrating at times

If you got friends, family and money, I would recommend getting Rock Band for your next gathering.

I was totally wrong on last article about Call of Duty 4 sucking. This past weekend, I was able to play and test out both single player and multiplayer on Xbox 360.

Don’t get me wrong, the distributed PC demo that was provided for single player did suck…but the Xbox 360 version was awesome.

I only played through the first couple of missions on single player, but it was pretty involving and sucked me right into the story and action. Yeah you are still on rails and if you are not doing what you are supposed to, the AI repeats itself over and over…but there are other aspects that help weigh out the bad.

The sounds and visuals are really nice. From different spoken languages to explosions, the sounds of the game help me become part of the war. The vegetation is fairly lush and the water seems very realistic. I even got a kick out of seeing an rusty broken down merry-go-round and swing set.

Multiplayer was packed with action as well. Although I didn’t know anything about the guns, ammo and controls…I held up in good position and ranked up within a few games. The only bad thing about the multiplayer was that the servers were having issues that day. Everytime that I went to start a Team Deathmatch…the servers would crash or not even start. This started to get annoying after awhile…thats what made me go check out the single player missions. I am sure that the server issue will be fixed if it hasn’t already.

All in all, I think that it may be a good war FPS to play until Battlefield Bad Company comes out.

It is freaking cold out and I can hardly stand it. I feel like slicing open a Taun-taun and crawling up inside it for some warmth! Although I like the snow, I hate cold weather.

A few reasons why cold weather could be a good thing are:

Christmas is near – Its time to give and get some new stuff and hang out with family…plus I get some excused
days off work.

Snow – There is something about snow falling and collecting on the ground. It creates an abnormal acoustic ambience that I am not used to hearing. The atmosphere seems quiet and peaceful…until a local hillbilly zooms by in his limited snow plow package edition, super loud monster truck.

Sledding – With snow, there’s sledding. Its a cool and fun way to kill a couple of hours.

No yard work – All vegetation is frozen, there is no lawn to mow and weeds to whack.

Good Excuse – Since its unbearable to go out in the cold and get any form of exercise, the cold weather makes for a great excuse to stay inside and get fatter.

Here are the top 10 reasons why I hate cold weather:

10. Its cold
9. Takes longer to get going in the morning
8. Can’t go outside and play around
7. Nothing green to look at…everything is frozen dead
6. Makes it very difficult to smoke outside
5. Entire body locks up and difficult to move around
4. Snot freezes up and makes my nose feel funny
3. Ice cream and popsicles just don’t sound good at all
2. Coats, hats and gloves just weigh me down
1. Its just too damn cold to do anything

With that being said, I leave you with a parting parody song related to cold weather.

Recently, I have just been getting into playing Halo 3…and I actually like it. Usually, I don’t like these types of games, but I have found an new addiction that is pulling me away from BF2. (yikes!)

Now that I have gotten used to the maps and weapons, I have started looking around for some glitches or other places to go where most players don’t. Yeah I know that some people will bitch if they see you exploiting Halo 3 glitches because they don’t know how to do them so if you learn anything, do it offline. :)

I found a pretty nice video that shows plenty of sweet spots on Halo 3 maps that will keep you busy.

Just got some Rockstar Propaganda which is a newsletter from RockstarGames.com and they are showing the new GTAIV box art. I have seen it before, but its cool how they reveal the art.

The movie shows a few painters and artists that are covering a huge white canvas in time lapse. Nothing special, but its a little different.

Have yourself a nice little Thanksgiving this year. Nothing major planned…just stuffing my face to the point of vomiting and relaxing with the family.

We do have a 40% chance of snow on Thanksgiving day which will be kind of cool. Unfortunately it won’t be enough to go sledding with so we will have to wait for the great blizzard of 2007 or 2008 to go.
