Happy Halloweenie

Dang, Halloween is already over. The yard got decorated, I sold 40 Ebay Halloween Guide Books and now its time to start thinking about some Turkey Dinner.

We had our trick-or-treat night last Saturday so it doesn’t even feel like Halloween to me today. Almost every year, I would walk around dressed up like Michael Myers with the kids but this year I decided to stay in for once. There was a decent handful of people come up for candy like we did last year and all the candy was gone by around 7:30pm. Soon after that, our cheap-asses where chasing kids away because we didn’t have anything else to give away…we had to save our money for some Hoosier Millionaire tickets!

Probably the highlight of the night was when I hooked up the leaf blower and 100 watt bulb to a secret switch. After the kids got their candy and started to walk away, I flipped the switch and gave them a quick scare. WrrrrRrrrrRrrrRRrr!!!

Anyway. Have a Happy Halloween.

Just got this Halloween Email Joke:

TRICK OR
TREAT!

A husband and wife were scheduled to attend a Halloween party. The wife got a terrible headache and told her husband to go to the Halloween party
alone. He, being a devoted husband, protested, but she argued and said she was going to take some Aspirin and go to bed and there was no need for his good time to be spoiled by her not going.

So he took his costume and away he went.

The wife, after sleeping soundly for about an hour, woke without pain, and as it was still early, deci! ded to go to the party. As her husband didn’t know what her costume was, she thought she would have some fun by watching her husband to see how he acted when she was not with him. So she joined the party and soon spotted her husband in his costume, cavorting around on the dance floor, dancing with every nice ‘chick’ he could and copping a little feel here and a little kiss there.

His wife went up to him and being a rather seductive babe herself, he left his new partner high and dry and devoted his time to her. She let him go as far as he wished, naturally, since he was her husband. After more drinks he finally whispered a little proposition in her ear and she agreed, so off they went to one of the cars and had passionate intercourse in the back seat.

Just before unmasking at midnight, she slipped away and went home and put the costume away and got into bed, wondering what kind of explanation he would make up for his outrageous behavior. She was sitting up! readin g when he came in, so she asked what kind of time he had.

‘Oh, the same old thing. You know I never have a good time when you’re not there.’

Then she asked, ‘Did you dance much?’

He replied, I’ll tell you; I never even danced one dance. When I got there, I met Pete, Bill Brown and some other guy, so we went into the spare room and played poker all evening.

‘You must have looked really silly wearing that costume playing poker all night’ she said with unashamed sarcasm.

To which the husband replied, ‘Actually, I gave my costume to your brother, and apparently he had the time of his life’

Rednecks Abuse Comments

I just had to deactivate the comments feature of webturd due to some abuse. I don’t mind reading opinions, but when there are bad remarks towards other readers I have to draw the line.

Sorry if the comment section will be missed, but with the time schedule that I have its difficult to check it all to time to see who’s being a redneck or not.

Who knows, maybe I will find a good enough reason to open up a message board.

Storm Chasing on TV

I’ve been waiting to check this show out and it finally aired last night.

The show consists of a team of brave people chasing down super cells and tornados for study…but what actually makes the show is that they are trying to drive a home-made, heavy armored car right into a tornado for film footage.

"
The Great Plains encompass 700,000 square miles of flatland, which is why the region is also known as “Tornado Alley.” Each spring, changing weather patterns create a recipe for catastrophe. Colliding air masses crash into each other with devastating force, producing deadly twisters that ravage human life and property.

Every year, a motley collection of scientists, enthusiasts and eccentrics brace themselves for another season of storm chasing. Their goal is to spot one of Mother Nature’s deadliest and most violent creations: the tornado. But for our team, seeing a tornado is not enough … The team hopes to achieve the impossible and actually go INSIDE one of these storms! "

The show seemed pretty tense and I knew they wouldn’t show them drive right into one on the first episode. I think to grab veiwer interest, they will probably wait for the 2nd or 3rd episode.

From seeing a few tornados in person, I can sort of understand what they are talking about when they say there is an unexplained beauty and wonder about them…but they are still scary as hell!

Call Of Duty 4 Sucks

Well I tried out the single player demo and I wasn’t very impressed. The graphics were ok and the sounds were decent but I just couldn’t get into it.

I guess that my worst annoyance with this game is that I feel like I am on rails. Only one way to go. You can’t just take off and explore with out someone yelling at you or telling you to take out a target 1000′s of times. The AI is a bunch of idots too. I know that it takes a lot of work to code something like this but you can memorize their repetitive actions within a second of studying them. He ducks, he stands up, he shoots…repeat process.

My PC is a few years old and it can handle most games without a problem, but I had to set my graphic settings down fairly low to get a decent frame rate. Any time the action tried to pick up, it got pretty jumpy and laggy.

Who knows, multiplayer might be a little bit better and more enjoyable…it seems that they should have worked on releasing a multiplayer demo first. Not a good marketing technique if you ask me.

Call of Duty 4 might make a good console game rental but I just think that its a waste of time for PC. I won’t be buying this game.

Battlefield 3 Rumored

From Burning Baghdad to
Battalions, it looks like there may be a Battlefield 3 coming our way. I personally don’t know what to think just yet, but it does sound interesting. There are rumors of modern day settings…which I am glad its nothing futuristic…but could this just be some kind of expansion pack? I would really like to see a remake of BF1942 on a new engine but that probably won’t happen. Whatever the case may be, you can count me in.

Here is the rumored BF3 info:

——————————–
A tipster sent us PDF document which looked like an outline of features
for Battlefield 3. The three page document is apparently prepared for
investors which should get it by December of this year. It details
basic features of BF3, and are as listed:

* Release in late 2008
* Powered by ?Frostbite DX?
* Set in year modern day (just like BF2, ed.)
* Will ship with 8 maps, each supporting up to 40-players per team
* Two playable factions, NATO and MEC (Middle Eastern Coalition)
* Same ?ticket-based? gameplay style as before
* Maps are mostly urban, based in Middle East
* Squads and Commanders are present, introduced are ?Battalions? which consist of three to four squads.
* Five playable classes; Sniper, Assault, Engineer, Medic and Support
* Will feature 48 different vehicles (24 for each faction)
* Will feature 34 different weapons (17 for each faction) and another
22 unlocks (for both factions), in total 56 different weapons.
* Other unlocks include different types of ammunition, body armor, helmets, camouflage and accessories.
* Possible public beta in ?Summer 2008″
* Online stats tracking, awards and ?real world ranks?
* ?Soldier? feature, looks like MMO-styled characters and avatars
* Ranked servers will be available for resellers weeks before the game ships (for testing, apparently, ed.)
* In-game replay and recording feature
* VoIP, friends list, in-game IM-client and ?extensive clan support?
* Built-in auto software updater (no more patches!, ed.)
* Widows Vista and OS X (no XP?!, ed.)
* Announcement and teaser trailer in January 2008.

A
map is mentioned by name, called ?Baghdad Burning?, and appears to be a
massive urban map, similar to BF2?s very popular ?Strike at Karkand?.
The game is powered by ?Frotbite DX?, currently the Frostbite engine is
used in Battlefiled: Bad Company on PS3 and Xbox 360. The ?DX? could
refer to DirectX (10?), a PC version of the Frostbite engine.

Please
note that none of this is confirmed, we?ve emailed a few people from EA
and DICE (Battlefield developers) and will update the article as soon
as we know more. Also note that we cannot, for obvious (legal) reasons,
release the PDF document. Stay tuned for more info.

EA and Dice Response to Rumor: No Comment

EA and Battlefield developer DICE (Digital Illusions CE) have responded to the Battlefield 3 rumors we posted yesterday. As expected, we (and many other sites) got the usual no
reply comment from EA, while a representative from DICE?s Swedish
office said something similar:

?We don?t comment on rumors or speculation. Currently
announced titles from DICE are Battlefield Bad Company and Mirror?s
Edge, you?ll hear from us officially as soon as we have anything
further to announce. For any future announcements regarding Battlefield
keep an eye on battlefield.com?

Usually companies tend to just deny any rumors regarding future
projects, but ?No comment? replies usually indicate some concern at the
the company. We?re further investigating the rumor and will post
updates as soon as we have anything new.
