Fine Tune Streaming Radio

Submitted Article

I found this awsome website the lets you stream into artists of all kinds!!

This isn’t just a ordianary radio stream! This one lets you search through many artists and home made radio stations. This player is completely made with flash and has rich graphics. I give this a 9.5/10 the down is that the program glitchs while it is playing the first song… so people, don’t flame the company… www.finetune.com

Stop Michael Stop!

I finally got the chance to check out the latest and greatest Halloween 2007 the other night. I must say that it was a pretty decent movie. Coming from Rob Zombie, I expected a little more blood or weirdness but don’t get me wrong, it was a little creepy. Being a Michael Myers nut for years I was too busy trying to compare this movie version to the very first one from 1978 and didn’t focus too much on what was scary or not.. I don’t think that this movie is actually supposed to be a remake, but just through the mind and fantasy of Rob Zombie.

The movie starts out telling the tale of Myers as a creepy young boy and his redneck family. The story explains in detail how he was physically, verbally and mentally abused. Just as most serial killers start out, he took out his aggression on small animals in creative ways. One Halloween, he totally lost his marbles and killed most of his family…thats when he got taken to the nuthouse. During his stay in the mental hospital, his infatuation with long hair and masks grew as well as his creepiness.

By the the time Myers breaks out of the hospital, he’s all grown up. Ex-wrestler Tyler Mane made an awesome Michael Myers! Standing tall at about 6 foot 8 inches, peeking through long stringy hair covering his face and wriggling his crusty toes, I really thought they did a good job of making him look disturbed.

Long story short and not to spoil anything for those that haven’t seen it, Michael Myers ventures out to find his sister who is the only surviving family member. On his last killing spree, he stashed the William Shatner mask and classic butcher knife under the floor boards. The nostalgia really kicks in when he goes back to the secret spot and digs up the past. During his search for his sister, he slices and dices a handful of people that get in his way.

The movie ends pretty much the same way as the 1978 version but doesn’t leave any hints or notions that there will be a sequel. I kept waiting for something corny to happen like a hand twitch or eye open from the killer’s dead body…but nothing.

If you like the old Halloween movies, this one is a Must See.

Mouse Attack Part 2

It looks like they sent in reinforcements because this is the 2nd time that I have had my space invaded by a mouse! Many of you remember the Mouse In Pants episode…well, this one didn’t get that close to me…but was close enough.

I was just sitting there minding my own business and I thought that I seen something out of the corner of my eye. I did a double take and sure enough, it was another little mouse on top of my desk! In shock, I did the same thing as before and yelled some obscenities before it ran behind my monitor. It stopped to chew on my bamboo place mat and strike a few threatening poses.

Since my camera was nearby, I snapped some photos of him before he took off.

This all happened a few minutes ago and he is down under my desk somewhere…just waiting to jump up my pants.

Lunar Eclipse Missed

Put this on my list of Things Forgot to watch as well…dang it!

A total eclipse of the Moon occurs during the early morning of Tuesday, August 28, 2007. The event is widely visible from the United States and Canada as well as South America, the Pacific Ocean, western Asia and Australia. During a total lunar eclipse, the Moon’s disk can take on a dramatically colorful appearance from bright orange to blood red to dark brown and (rarely) very dark gray.

An eclipse of the Moon can only take place at Full Moon, and only if the Moon passes through some portion of Earth’s shadow. The shadow is actually composed of two cone-shaped parts, one nested inside the other. The outer shadow or penumbra is a zone where Earth blocks some (but not all) of the Sun’s rays. In contrast, the inner shadow or umbra is a region where Earth blocks all direct sunlight from reaching the Moon.

If only part of the Moon passes through the umbra, a partial eclipse is seen. However, if the entire Moon passes through the umbral shadow, then a total eclipse of the Moon occurs. For more information on how, what, why, where and when of lunar eclipses, see the special web page lunar eclipses for beginners.
