Last Night Pt. 2 Remix
So I’ve been hooked on this song with a bad case of the ear worm for a few weeks. Now, there’s a remix out featuring Krayzie Bone and I kinda dig it. Check it out:

I am a freelancer that works on anything from web sites to photography, product package design and custom cartoon mascots. Because of this, I have many different clients and different projects to keep track of. Learning the hard way, sleepless nights taught me that there are way too many tasks to try to keep in my head and I need better organization.
I’ve tried many different online task managers and complicated to-do list sites, but there is just something about keeping my stuff online that bugged me. Because of this, I’ve always resorted to Outlook and using the dry and boring built-in task list feature. Outlook allowed me to list my tasks, but I’ve always had that feeling that there was something missing. I’ve always yearned for to-do list software that would take the fear factor out of my tasks lists and just have an overall inviting aspect to it with endless organization features and flawless function.
After days of trying out different task manager programs, I recently tried the Swift To-Do List demo and was hooked at first install. I strongly feel that I have finally found probably the best task list manager ever. A very friendly company called Dextronet provides task management software called Swift To-Do List that has finally set me at ease.
Here are the reasons why I have chosen to use Swift To-Do List and forget about the rest.
Appearance
I like to consider myself a minimalist and Swift To-Do List is squeaky clean. It’s crisp look makes it very inviting to look at your lists and not get scared away by a big mess of info. It allows me to choose from many different icons for the organized tree menu and best of all, the software allows me to color code many different aspects such as due dates and priorities.
The notes area of each task allows for just about any kind of formatting that I need. I simply enjoy using the date stamp and highlighting important items with a couple of quick keyboard shortcuts. All of this still presents a very nice, clean and organized look. Because of this, a quick glance is all that is needed to get things done.
Custom Reminders
With so much going on in my work life, I need to be reminded to do things from time to time. Setting a custom reminder allows my mind to relax a little and not have to worry about trying to cram more into it. There is also an option to set email reminders which are really helpful if I can’t be at my computer at the time and also allows me to forward to a client if needed.
Customizing
This was a huge factor for me as most other task manager software seems to fail horribly in this area. If there is something about Swift To-Do List that wasn’t appealing to me, there is the ability to add tweak things until I am satisfied. Not only does the software allow custom colors but it also allows the creation or renaming of task types, priorities and statuses. Overall, Swift To-Do List seems very flexible which is one of my favorite aspects of the software. I can drag and drop tasks where I want them to go and even move columns around for a more customized layout.

Results
Not only does this software set my mind at ease with the many organization features, it also allows me to get things done. Using the date stamp, I know exactly when I emailed an important document to a client and lets me know exactly what I am doing without reading through numerous emails and attempting to travel back into time. I am able to quickly view due dates and rely on the reminders for each project. I can honestly say that my stress levels have lowered since using Swift To-Do List!
The Future
After trying out the software, I thought that the only thing missing is the ability to sync online. Low and behold, Dextronet is currently working on this feature! By reading the Swift To-Do List blog, it seems like Dextronet has plenty more in store to add to this already amazing piece of software. This is a huge plus in my book when I already have the perfect task managing software and still get more.
If you are looking to organize your life and reduce stress levels of projects, I highly suggest that you give Swift To-Do List a try and see what it can do for you.

I felt like a little kid last night when I found out that Mr. Cheeks himself was in the chat room. And for him to acknowledge my existence was kind of cool.
Sikmixx Radio is probably the best live DJ show that I stream just about every night while I work on my design projects. There are a handful of very talented DJ’s that I gain inspiration from and its like a family there. Last night, the show was booming with DJ Lou NYC and to my disbelief, Mr. Cheeks was in the chat room chatting it up with all of us.
Cheeks has one of the smoothest voices in hip hop and I have been a fan of his work since the days of Lost Boyz back in 1994. I got through my college years listening to him, his style and ability to tell a story over a beat. ( fyi, that’s what real hip hop is )
I know that its probably not a big deal to most, but it was a cool way to bring me up out of a shitty work day knowing this guy is still around, doing his thing and taking time out for us.

For 1200 Microsoft points, players will be able to download the extra map packs on the February 1st 2011. Sony Playstation and PC gamers will have to wait at least a month before they can do the same…sorry about your luck!

Its crazy how reading about the creepy animal deaths everyday makes it sound so much worse that it probably really is. Any kind of death is bad but some people think that the coming is indeed coming and start comparing it to some stuff in the bible.
You know what it is? Its the internet and media.
I am not saying that I am perfect and don’t fall for the media traps. If that was the case, I wouldn’t be writing this blog post because it got my imagination stirred up.
It just seems with headlines right at your finger tips, its extremely easy to get the feeling that this is happening more and more. Not to mention stirring up wild imaginations. With this being a hot topic, more and more reporters are looking for different animal deaths and reporting on it.
Take the Google Mass Animal Death Map for example: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=201817256339889828327.0004991bca25af104a22b
Another headline that I just read and prompted me to vent with this post is the recent: “200 cows dead, is it prophecy?“. Reading something like that can really stir up some BS and the article seems to leave out the details leaving us dumb readers that it all happened overnight by demonic flying monkeys and we don’t have much time left.
A quick search on a similar headline of “200 cows” brought be to a more comforting article: http://www.wsaw.com/home/headlines/200_Cows_Die_in_Portage_County_113829069.html
The article mentions that the cows began to die early last week from Acute Interstitial Pneumonia. The cows ended up dying with within 12 hours of showing first signs as treatment medication was not effective.
Technically, that could be a overnight death for some…but not all of them died like that…and it was from a virus.
All in all, any kind of death is not good to hear or read about whether it be animal or human. The point that I am trying to make is that during times like this, its easy to look over at all the other news that is happen throughout the world. Remember a year ago when it was all earthquake news? Or what about the BP oil spill?
